Taipei 101 is a super-tall skyscraper located in the Xinyi District of Taipei, Taiwan. It stands at a height of 509.2 meters and comprises 101 above-ground floors and 5 underground levels. It was completed on December 1, 2004, and held the title of the world’s tallest building until January 7, 2010. Currently, it remains the tallest building in Taiwan and is the only structure in Taiwan with a height exceeding 500 meters and more than 100 floors.

“The Wind Damper of Taipei 101” 台北101的風阻尼器
To mitigate the impact of wind forces on the building, the principles of physics are applied by incorporating a wind damper system. During normal conditions, this system absorbs the slight swaying of the building itself, reducing discomfort for occupants. In the event of an earthquake or strong winds, the wind damper system effectively dampens most of the severe oscillations, ensuring the safety and comfort of visitors and occupants inside Taipei 101.
為了抑制風力對大樓所產生影響，運用物理原理設置風阻尼器，平時可吸收建築本身的微幅擺動，降低內部人員的不適；當地震、強風發生時，風阻尼器可抑制大部份的劇烈擺動，讓在台北101內部參觀的旅客以及大樓的工作者，不僅穩妥安全，更減少搖晃造成的不舒適感。

台北101登高賽”Taipei 101 Vertical Race”
The Taipei 101 Vertical Marathon (formerly known as the Taipei 101 International Vertical Race) is an annual race held at Taipei 101 skyscraper. It was first organized in 2005 and features a total of 91 floors, 2,046 steps, and a vertical height of 390 meters. In 2023, the men’s individual champion in the elite category was secured by Malaysian athlete Soh Wai Ching, who completed the race in 11 minutes, 40.06 seconds.
台北101垂直馬拉松（Taipei 101 Run Up，原名：台北101國際登高賽）是一場每年固定以台北101大樓作為比賽場地的登高賽。2005年首度辦理，共計有91層樓、2046階、垂直高度390公尺，2023年個人男子冠軍由菁英組馬來西亞藉選手Soh Wai Ching以11分40秒06奪得冠軍。
